The International Association of Centers for Peirce Studies (IACPS)
The IACPS is a service organization whose only goal is to encourage communication between and among centers for Peirce studies. Peirce study centers are primarily websites devoted exclusively to the works of Charles S. Peirce. They allow scholars who are studying the works of Charles S. Peirce to make available their results to others who want to learn. There are no dues; the association is funded primarily by the American Semiotics Research Institute and the Pearson Family Foundation with the blessings of the Charles S. Peirce Foundation.
The IACPS will supply a web page listing all of the centers for Peirce studies, their links, their contact information, and their areas of special concentration in Peirce studies. It will also publish a newsletter to all of the centers updating them on the latest activities in the world of Peirce studies. This will help to keep them informed of who’s doing what and where. It is also intended to facilitate direct communication between the centers themselves. An international conference will be held once a year.
The American Semiotics Research Institute will supply all labor involved in web design and newsletter publishing, and the Pearson Family Foundation will cover all costs involved. The net result of this is that all centers, no matter what their budgets and foreign exchange problems, may register with the IACPS at no cost and no obligation.
